Tigers Go 2-1 In Kirksville Campus Bowl Tournament

The varsity campus bowl tournament at Kirksville March 23 provided the Scotland County quiz bowl squad its toughest competition of the year. The Tigers dropped the first round game to Kirksville 255-170. Michael Lodewegen led the scoring with 40 points while Jennifer Crawford added 30.

Game two pitted SCR-I against Helias from Jefferson City. Scotland County held its own against the much larger school before pulling away on the final three questions of the game to post the 155-125 win. Lodewegen and Ryan Hinds each had 50 points while Jason Findling and Jennifer Crawford added 20 points.

The Tigers then dispatched Monroe City in game three by a score of 170-130. Lodewegen again had 50 points while Hinds and Findling both added 40.

Despite the 2-1 record in the preliminary round the Tigers failed to advance to the finals. The qualifiers were based on total scores from the first three games and SCR-I fell just five points short of moving on to the tourney finals.
