Tigers Take Third At Schuyler Co. Golf Tournament

Three players in the top 15 individual scores helped the Scotland County Golf Team climb up the standings in the 14-team Schuyler County Golf Tournament April 4 to finish third overall.

The Tigers finished nine strokes off the pace with a 340. Brookfield won the team title carding a 331. Marceline was just one stroke behind with a 332.

The Tigers just edged out the host team as the Rams finished the day with a 341. Trenton was fifth with 354 followed by Kirksville (364), LaPlata (377), Knox Co. (379), Putnam Co. (389) and the Schuyler Co. JV (395).

Milan finished 11th with a round of 400 followed by Meadville (408), Princeton (466) and North Harrison (496).

Annual state-qualifier Daniel Cordray of Meadville won the individual honors, shooting a 75 in the 18-hole event. Damian Knowles of Brookfield was runner-up with a 79. Marceline's Tyson Kelley was third with a round of 80.

Chase Moore had the best score for Scotland County, finishing fourth overall with an 81. Josh McBee carded an 83 which was the ninth best score of the afternoon while Andy Boyer was just one stroke off that score with an 84 that tied him for 12th on the medal list.
