Tigers Track Team Takes Title At Jerry Ball Relays

The Scotland County varsity boys track team returned home from the Jerry Ball Relays in Clark County covered with individual medals but more importantly with the team championship.

SCR-I posted three first place performances and a total of 12 top three finishes on the afternoon.

Bradley Wood won the 400-meter dash for SCR-I while Jason Glass continued to dominate the local discus competition with another first place finish. The Tigers 4x800-meter relay team also brought home top honors. The team consists of Clint Cottrell, Cody Holt, Danny Roach and David Hillyer.

Overall the team scored five second place performances. Andrew Bulen completed the Tigers dominance of the discus event with a second place throw. Brett Masden was runner up in the shot put to give SCR-I a strong scoring show in the throwing events.

The field events continued to produce big points for Scotland County as Jason Findling took second in the long jump while Holt took runner-up honors in the high jump.

Cottrell rounded out the second place scoring on the track in the 800-meter run.

The team was not finished yet. Medals were brought home in four additional events. Tim Buford finished third in the 100-meter dash. On the other end of the running events Kiel Fogle was third in the 3,200 meter run. The Tigers two sprint relay squads both brought home third place points. Buford, Joel Myers, Aarron Holt and Tim Robinson were third in the 4x100-meter relay. Robinson, Findling, Buford and A. Holt were third in the 4x200-meter relay.
