Tigers Finish Fourth At Conference Track Meet

The Scotland County boys track team finished a disappointing fourth in the Tri-Rivers Conference meet held May 7 in Kirksville despite some top individual performances.

SCR-I had consistently been in the top two teams in the league much of the season, trailing only Brookfield, so anything less than a second place overall finish was disappointing for the team members.

SCR-I did have two top performances. Jason Glass picked up yet another victory, winning the discus.

Cody Holt continued to leap up in the standings among area high jumpers. He won his second meet in a row, clearing six-feet for only the second time this year.

Brett Masden continued a late season surge in the shot put, finished second in the conference meet making him a strong contender to earn a state bid.

Jason Findling slipped to third place in the long jump with an off day ending his winning streak but still leaving him in easy striking distance to move on to Jefferson City next week.

Tim Buford finished third in the 200-meter dash maintaining his hopes to close out his senior season with a trip to state as well. He'll need a top two finish at districts to qualify.
