Two Lady Tigers Earn All-District Softball Honors

The Class 2 District 12 All-District team released last week basically was a Who's Who of the Tri-Rivers Conference.

The district coaches honored 13 players with the all-district designation following the completion of the district tournament held in Edina.

A run into the district title game and a near miss at knocking off eventual champion Putnam County helped Scotland County land two players on the All-District team.

Pitcher Sara Eggleston, a junior, and senior shortstop Meagan Fromm represented the Lady Tigers in the all-star selections.

Rounding out the team was Marcie McMahan and Katie McMahan of Knox County, Ashley Wallingford of Clark County and Alicia Vestal of Putnam County, all pitchers.

Katie Fowler of Putnam County was named the all-district catcher. Joining Fromm with infield honors were Katie Roberts of Schuyler County, Courtney Ream and Shay Williams of Putnam County, Jessica Taylor of Milan and Julie Gares of Clark County. The lone outfielder to receive all-district honors was Schuyler County's Kea Beeler.
