Death Of Schuyler County Inmate Ruled A Suicide

The death of an inmate at the Schuyler County Jail has been ruled a suicide by the investigating offices.

On January 29 at approximately 9:00 p.m. the inmate, Ronald A. Miller, 33, of Sioux City, IA, was discovered deceased in his cell.

A coroner's jury was convened by the Schuyler County Coroner to assist in the investigation of the death, which was also reviewed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Investigation Division. Miller's body was transferred to Columbia where an autopsy was performed. The death was ruled as self inflicted by hanging.

Miller had been housed in the Schuyler County Jail in Lancaster since his arrest November 26, 2002 after an all-night man hunt north of Glenwood.

He was wanted in Woodbury County, IA, on three felony charges and also faced one felony charge in Appanoose County.
