Scotland County Ambulance Calls Up To 399 In 2002

Taxpayers like to see their money put to good use. Typically that means they want to see public servants hard at work. However most would agree to make an exception for the ambulance service - with the less work they do the better.

Unfortunately in 2002 the Scotland County Ambulance Service was very busy, averaging more than one run a day. The service responded to a total of 399 calls of which only 21 were non-transfers, or what the service calls dry runs.

Scotland County ambulances responded to 176 emergency calls last year. In addition, the ambulances made 202 long distance transfers. Those totals included 62 cardiac transfers as well as 18 level one patients.
