Tigers Golf Team Headed To State

The Scotland County Tigers golf team qualified for the state championship easily besting the 10 teams at the Class 1 District Tournament held in Hannibal May 9.

The Scotland County golf team was crowned district champions last week and will advance to state competition. Pictured (L to R) are Andy Boyer, Corvin Drummond, Josh McBee, Kyle Lister and Chase Moore.

The Tigers were crowned district champs after completing the round with a team score of 320. Van-Far was a distant second with a score of 334.

Andy Boyer led the way for the Tigers finishing the day with a score of 77 to win top individual honors.

Chase Moore pushed his teammate for the medalist award finishing one stroke off the pace with a 78 to give SCR-I the two best scores of the event.

Corvin Drummond made it three of the top four scores when he carded an 80. Josh McBee was just one spot out of the top 10, finishing with an 85 while freshman Kyle Lister shot a 100.

The victory sends SCR-I to the Class 1 state tourney to be played in Springfield May 19 and 20 at the Deer Lake Golf Course.
