Knox County Law Officers Bust Meth Lab In Rutledge

The Knox County Sheriff's Department made three drug arrests in Rutledge after a search reportedly uncovered what was thought to be a methamphetamine lab.

According to a published report in the Kirksville Daily Express, Mary Shaw, 45, of Rutledge, Brandon S. Malone, 17, of Dumas, TX, and Benjamin C. Tarpein, 20 of Panhandle, TX, were taken into custody following the search of Shaw's home. The three were arrested after meth was found in the residence along with materials to make the illegal drug.

Shaw was taken to the Adair County Law Enforcement Center while Malone and Tarpein were transported to the Lewis County Jail for incarceration. They all face charges for the possession and manufacturing of a controlled substance.

A juvenile was also taken into custody at the residence and was transported to the Bruce Normille Detention Center in Kirksville.
