AeroCare Brings Home Medical Equipment Service Back To Memphis
Memphis and the surrounding communities will once again have access to home medical equipment thanks to a new business that opened on the south side of the Memphis Square. Actually new is not exactly an accurate description as Ken Rethmeier is returning to open his store in the same building where he operated a home medical equipment business in past years, this time under a new name, AeroCare Home Medical Equipment, Inc.
"We are trying to support the Memphis community by bringing these health care equipment services directly where they are needed," Rethmeier stated. "We hope the community, in turn, supports this local business. If pulmonary patients wish to receive our services all they need to do is give us a call."
Rethmeier, who has more than 20 years experience in the medical equipment field, used to be the proprietor of Home Care Medical Equipment that operated an office in Memphis. After he sold the company to a national firm the business later closed the Memphis office. He noted the need to provide services to such areas as this community was a key reason for him getting back into the business.
AeroCare provides 24-hour a day, seven day a week service with same day delivery. The company also offers monthly home visits to its respiratory patients. The equipment available ranges from oxygen and portable oxygen equipment, nebulizer compressors and medications to hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches and commodes. They also provide Bi-Pap, C-Pap and C-Flex.
"At AeroCare Home Medical Equipment we pride ourselves in taking the team approach to caring for our patients," Rethmeier stated.
The Memphis team will feature long-time Memphis resident Bev Newman who serves as the customer service representative. Carleta Hawkins, BSN RN, brings more than eight years experience in the field to the Memphis office as the marketing representative.
"We just want the community, particularly the oxygen patients to know they once again can get the necessary medical equipment service right here at home," Hawkins said. "Our respiratory therapists help your doctor determine how to help you feel better. Our extensive line of products can help you have a better quality of life."
The office's patient care coordinators work with the customer and their physician to help ensure the patient is taking medications as ordered by the doctor. The business also offers a patient compliance program for nebulizer medication patients as well as sleep therapy "Pap" patients.
AeroCare maintains offices in Memphis, Macon, Kirksville and Waynesville in Missouri with a new store to be opened soon in Springfield.
