Gorin Fall Festival August 30 and 31

The Gorin CAREing Committee is ready to have their 15th Gorin Fall Festival. This is an annual event that was started in 1989 when Gorin had its Centennial Celebration. There will be hometown games, food stands, Winn's Kiddie Train, bed races, water brigade game, etc.

Saturday, August 30th will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m. for the baby show and the prince and princess show; 10:00 a.m. the shows will begin with lots of prizes given away; 11:00 a.m. the Grand Marshal will be introduced and The Outstanding Youth and Outstanding Citizen will be announced; 12:00 noon will be the decorated bike contest, followed by the parade at 12:30 p.m.

After the parade will be the antique tractor show; 1:30 p.m. the kiddie tractor pull will start, with the Cowless Chip Bingo and raffles immediately after. Kids and adult games will be played and Kahoka Lions Club will serve homemade ice cream. Saturday will end with a country music show at 4:00 p.m.

Sunday, August 31st will begin with Community Church Services to be held at the Joe Buford Memorial Stage at 10:30 a.m. Please bring lawn chairs. At noon there will be a carry-in dinner at the Community Hall. Bring covered dish.

The trap shoot will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Nelson Golbricht farm. Those participating should bring their own gun and shells. Prizes will be awarded.
