Firemen Warn Dry Conditions Ripe For Grassfires

The Scotland County Fire Department responded to a grassfire behind the Ronald Keller residence on Ridge Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 26.

The fire had spread in a grass pasture and consumed less than an acre or two.

It marked the second time the department had been at the property as the firemen also responded to a grassfire in the pasture on August 23.

The fire department asks all property owners to be aware of the dry conditions and to refrain from performing any non-necessary burning.
