Truck Destroyed By Fire On Route F Near Granger

A late model pick-up truck was totally destroyed by fire on Route F just north of the Highway 136 junction near Granger at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2.

A passing motorist notified the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department of the blaze and the Scotland County Fire Department was dispatched to scene.

The EMS workers were notified en route that the vehicle was fully engulfed and one of the truck’s two fuel tanks had exploded.

A crew of eight firemen quickly doused the fire after arriving at the scene but the truck was a total loss. The vehicle was owned by Richard Byrn. No injuries were reported.
