Elvis Is Coming To Memphis

Elvis Wade, that is. Elvis Wade will be performing at the Memphis Theatre on Thursday, November 13, at 7:30 p.m.

Wade Cummins was born in rural Tennessee. Wade began performing at the age of nine mimicking Elvis Presley. At age 13 he joined his first band playing rhythm guitar, and at age 16, Wade and the Nationals performed in top nightclubs. Wade also performed with the show band, Lafayette and The Les Sabres, and as lead singer with a powerful four octave range did vocal impressions of Gene Pitney, Tom Jones, Buddy Holly, Frankie Valle, and of course, Elvis Presley.

In the late 1960s, Wade’s show was transformed to focus on the Elvis Presley image. Presley himself saw the show in 1976 and gave Wade a standing ovation.

Wade has performed nationally and internationally with symphony orchestras, at state fairs, and at renown theatres and arenas.

Enjoy an evening of music including 50s, 60s, 70s, gospel and country. “Elvis will be in the building”! Tickets may be obtained by contacting Barb at 465-8924 or Harlo at 465-7770.
