$5,000 Reward Offered To Solve Safe Theft

A $5,000 reward has been posted for information leading to the arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the theft of a safe from a local business.

Ownership of C & H Livestock of Memphis has posted the significant compensation in hopes of helping local law enforcement officials catch those responsible for the theft. A total of $2,500 of the reward is allotted for the criminal case with the other half to be paid for the return of the cash that was taken from the safe.

The Memphis Police Department began the investigation on November 6 when Bobby Harris of C & H Livestock reported that a safe stolen from the office of the livestock yard had been recovered at the Old City Lake near Memphis. The police report indicated that papers and other business related items were still in the safe but a large amount of cash was missing.

The city police department is working in conjunction with the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department and the Division of Drug and Crime Control from the Missouri State Highway Patrol on the investigation.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call the PD at 660-465-2612.
