GERTRUDE DUNCAN
(10/19/1911 - 12/29/2002)



Gertrude Duncan, 91, of Memphis, MO, passed away December 29, 2002, in the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

The daughter of James and Sophia C. (Billups) Bourn, she was born on October 19, 1911, in Scotland County, MO.

She attended Scotland County schools.

On October 14, 1936, she was married to Eugene C. Duncan in the pastor's home in Unionville, MO. They made their home in Scotland County and farmed together in the Brock vicinity.

Gertrude was a past 4-H leader and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and yard work. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis, MO.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one sister, Edith; and two brothers, Oval A. (Pete) Bourn, and Lem Bourn.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jo Kennedy and husband, Gene of Franklin Park, IL; two granddaughters, Crystal Forbes and husband, Glen of Elmhurst, IL, and Kelly Frasca and husband, David of Elmhurst, IL; four great-grandchildren, Jillian and Caitlin Forbes, and Keagan and Emily Frasca; one nephew, Wayne Bourn and wife, Pat of Hannibal, MO; one niece, Mrs. Stanley (Helen Jean) Sharp of Edina, MO.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 31, 2002, in the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis, MO, with Pastor Troy Barrett officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Gene Kennedy, David Frasca, Glen Forbes, Wayne Bourn, Brian Consbrock, and Robert W. Shelley. Interment was in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO. Memorials have been suggested to the Scotland County Care Center or to the Alzheimers Association. Arrangements were handled by Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis Chapel, Memphis, MO.
