MAY HOUGLAND

Lyrla May Hougland, 88, of Bloomfield, IA, died December 21, 2002, at the Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield, IA.

She was born June 7, 1914, in Scotland County, MO, to Marquis Eddy and Thressa A. Horner Hougland.

She was a bookkeeper for a cement company in Chillicothe, MO for several years. She had been a resident of Bloomfield, IA since 1980. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Bloomfield, IA.

She is survived by a brother, Paul Hougland of Bloomfield, IA; a sister, Maxine Slavin of Memphis, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Asher, Brayton, and Marquis Hougland.

Funeral services were held December 27, 2002, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Bloomfield, IA, with Pastor Steve Houser officiating. Burial will be in the Barker Cemetery in Scotland County, MO. A memorial has been established to the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Bloomfield, IA. Casket bearers were David Howk, Bob, James and Dean Hougland, John Slavin, and DeWayne Mullinix. Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, IA, was in charge of arrangements.
