LEE DEAN CUNDIFF
(5/16/1942 - 2/2/2003)



Lee Dean Cundiff, 60, of Columbia, MO, formerly of Milton, IA, died Sunday, February 2, 2003, at his home.

He was born the son of George Lee and Lela Helen (Lunsford) Cundiff on May 16, 1942, in Milton Iowa.

Dean graduated from Fox Valley High School and attended Moberly Christian College.

On June 1, 1963, he married Leota Simerl at the Milton (Iowa) Christian Church. To this union four children were born.

He later married Mary Lou Thorson.

Dean worked with his father in the family's heating and plumbing business for several years. He then was employed as a plumber at the Ft. Madison (IA) State Prison. Dean then worked as a prison guard at the Moberly (MO) Correctional Center. After retirement, he moved to Columbia. He enjoyed fishing, boating, outdoor activities, and playing pool.

His parents and a son, Bobby Dee, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his children: Ginger Lee and husband Kevin Cline of Kirksville, Lee Dean "Buddy" Cundiff and Tim Cundiff, both of Columbia; an aunt, Daisy Slaughter of Milton, Iowa; two grandchildren, Raquel Hervey and Ciara Cundiff; a great grandson, Tyler Rolfe; and several cousins.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Rev. Caughron provided special music. Serving as pallbearers were relatives and friends. Burial was in the South Prairie Cemetery, near Milton, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the family.
