Mary Lavon Keller, 82, of Memphis, MO, died February 14, 2003, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO.

She was born March 12, 1920, in Scotland County, MO, the daughter of James and Ella Rugh McIntosh.

She married Joe Keller, May 11, 1941, in Scotland County, MO, and to this union two sons were born.

She attended grade school in Scotland County, MO, and graduated from high school at Milton, IA. After high school, she attended Parsons College at Fairfield, IA, and taught grade school until her marriage. She worked in the kitchen of the Scotland County Elementary School, and later in the kitchen at the Scotland County Hospital. She lived on two farms in Scotland County for over 40 years before moving to Memphis in 1990.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Memphis, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a granddaughter, Deborah Keller.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Keller and wife, Linda of Ottumwa, IA and Dr. Ronald Keller and wife, Blanche of Memphis, MO; 13 grandchildren, Eric Keller and wife, Chrisden of Columbus, OH, Lisa Keller of West Des Moines, IA, and Sara Keller of Ottumwa, IA, Mrs. Brent (Kelli) Robinson of Chandler, AZ, Mrs. John (Stephanie) Droppelmann of Kansas City, KS, Ronald Keller, Jr. and wife, Kim of Rigby, ID, Mrs. Mark (Erin) Porter of Rexburg, ID, Kathy Keller of Rexburg, ID, David Keller of Long Beach, CA, Jon, Michael, Spencer and Joshua Keller, all of Memphis, MO; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Hyde of Memphis, MO, and Irene Jamison of Texas.

The family has suggested memorials to the Scotland County Memorial Hospital and they may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Funeral services were held February 18, 2003 at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Charles Hammack officiating. Musicians will be Danielle Bair, soloist, and Joan Goosey, organist. Pallbearers were Denny Hyde, Bill Kiddoo, Ronald Keller, Jr., Burl Pierce, Vaughn Biggs, and Eric Keller. Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril, IA. Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis, MO was in charge of arrangements.
