FREDDIE L. HAUK
(7/18/1932 - 4/24/2003)




Freddie L. Hauk, 70, of Memphis, MO, passed away April 24, 2003, at his home east of Memphis, MO.

He was born July 18, 1932 the son of Fred L. Hauk and step-son of Cordella "Dee" Hauk.

He married Marjorie Benedict, May 30, 1969, in Jefferson City, MO.

Since the fall of 1995 Freddie has been blessed to have a very special companion Peggy Malgum.

After school he started farming. Freddie and his wife, Marjorie built and ran the Catfish Place near Arbela, MO, for five years. They then moved to the Gulf Coast in Louisiana for 10 years. In 1986 Freddie and Marjorie returned to the Memphis area. Freddie started Auto Credit, the used car dealership in Keokuk, IA.

He was also a life-long farmer. Freddie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren. Freddie and Peggy enjoyed traveling to Florida in the winter months.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Marjorie.

Surviving are Peggy Malgum loving wife; two sons, Rick Hauk and his wife, Jenny and Jeffrey Hauk and wife, Catherine, all of Canton, IL; two daughters, Kay Dushane and husband, Rod of Fairview, IL, and Lisa Chabert and husband, Bill of Memphis, MO; three grandsons, Scott Hauk, Chris and Cody Chabert; four granddaughters, Sheri, Andrea and Mallory Hauk and Melissa Morrison; and three great-grandchildren.

The family has suggested memorials to the donors choice and may be left or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Funeral services were held April 27, 2003, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Robert C. Moseley officiating. Pallbearers were Jackie Goosey, Jack Dannenhauer, Ronnie Dochter-man, Gurden Tague, Gary Dial and Pat Powell. Honorary pallbearers were Vernon Yoder, Wayne Mattingly, Wayne Muntz, and John E. Luther. Interment was in the Gorin Cemetery, Gorin, MO. Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO was in charge of arrangements.
