BARBARA ANN BLIEFERT
(7/12/1933 - 5/22/2003)




Barbara Ann Bliefert, 69, of Novelty, MO, and formerly of Memphis, MO, died May 22, 2003, in the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.

She was born July 12, 1933, in Unionville, MO, to George and Crystal Mae Bacus George.

She graduated from high school in Oakland, CA.

She married Frank LaVerne Bliefert on February 9, 1952 in Reno, NV. He preceded her in death in 1992. They moved to Memphis in 1980 when they began the ownership and operation of the Grandview Motel and which Barbara continued to operate until 1997.

She was a past worthy matron of the Lake Merit Chapter O.E.S. in Oakland, CA and a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Randall L. Bliefert and special friend, Teresa Ball of Memphis, MO, Ronald L. Bliefert of Memphis, MO, and Christopher L. Bliefert of Novelty, MO; six grandchildren, Jason Bliefert, Dustin Bliefert, Troy Bliefert and special friend, Melissa Griffin, Ashley Bliefert, Tilena Bliefert and Jennie Doscher; and six great-grandchildren, Madeline Bliefert, Endymion Bliefert, Caleb Bliefert, Christian Bliefert, Jailene Grant and Bailey Dae Bliefert. Also surviving are two step-sisters, Ilene DelRio of Livermore, CA and C. Toula Harner of Oakland, CA; and a step-brother, James George of Anaheim Hills, CA.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held May 25, 2003, with the Reverend Carol Blackwell officiating in the Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO. Burial was in the Memphis Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jason Bliefert, Troy Bliefert, Dustin Bliefert, Steve Kieliger, Phillip Patterson, and Chris Bailey. Honorary casketbearers were Richard Hurley, Tommy Ball, Bryan Ball and Troy Ball. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Memphis Funeral Home of Memphis, MO, was in charge of the arrangements.
