LAVENA HAYDEN DUNN
(6/9/1922 - 5/20/2003)




Lavena Hayden Dunn, 80, of Memphis, died Tuesday morning, May 20, 2003, at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics in Columbia.

She was born the daughter of John Steward and Mamie Dorn (Hunt) Bradley on June 9, 1922 near Bible Grove.

Lavena married Cecil Earl Hayden on June 21, 1941. He preceded her in death.

She later married Harold Dunn.

Lavena lived in Northeast Missouri her entire life, with the exception of 16 years in Southern California. She loved traveling throughout the western United States. Lavena enjoyed sewing and quilting.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Macon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Basil A. and Vansil L. Bradley.

She is survived by her daughter, Blanche Dorene Denney of Littleton, CO; two granddaughters: Michelle and her husband, Mark Bowers of Littleton and Larissa and husband Jeffrey Langston of West Covina, CA; two great grandsons: Matthew and Michael Bowers of Littleton; her sister: Delma and husband Nolan Phillips of Burlington, IA; several nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2003, at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Denny White officiating. Special music was provided by Schelle Cooley, soloist. Serving as pallbearers were Doug Robinson, Scott Robinson, Gary Bradley, David Gudehus, Okie Dean Bradley, and Larry Frederick. Burial was in the Bible Grove Church of Christ Cemetery, Bible Grove, MO. Memorials have been suggested to the Bible Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Gerth Funeral Service from their Memphis chapel.
