Melba Jean (Parrish) Tull, 47, of Memphis, formerly of Gorin, died Thursday evening, June 12, 2003, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis. She was born on May 17, 1956, in Kirksville, the daughter of Eli "Buster" and Mildred (Morrison) Parrish. Melba graduated from the Gorin High School. She married Richard Pinson on November 20, 1976. She later married David Branch on October 19, 1984. David preceded her in death on August 28, 1991. Melba enjoyed gardening; doing puzzles, needlework, and flowers. She especially loved her animals. Melba was employed at the National Garment Factory in Memphis, the Glove Factory in Edina, and at the LaBelle Manor Care Center. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father Eli "Buster" Parrish on July 10, 1992; a son, Josh Pinson and nephew Scott Pinson on January 17, 1994. She is survived by her son, Mitchell Pinson and special friend Cheyenne Mills of Drakesville, IA; her mother, Mildred Parrish of Gorin; her brother, Mike and his wife Diane Parrish of Gorin; three sisters: Wilma Parrish and special friend Mike Lawson of Hurdland, Nellie and her husband Carl Zweifel of Kahoka, and Dixie Parrish of Gorin; nieces: Cora Zweifel of Grandview, MO, Katie and Kristie Parrish of Gorin; a nephew, Travis and wife Terri Pinson of Bloomfield; a great niece, Cheyan Munson of Bloomfield, IA; a great nephew, Sean Pinson of Bloomfield; and several aunts. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2003, at the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with the Rev. Ernest Deatrick officiating. Burial was in the South Bethel Cemetery near Rutledge. Serving as casketbearers were Tim Branch, Darin Dale, Chuck Little, Larry Clark, Guy McConnell, and Rodger Holton. Memorials are suggested to Mitchell's Education Fund in care of Tom Parrish or the Scotland County Care Center. Gerth Funeral Service handled the arrangements from their Memphis chapel.
