MARGARET M. POWELL
(4/30/1920 - 6/12/2003)




Margaret M. Powell, 83, of Canton, IL, formerly of Gorin, MO, died June 12, 2003, at the Renaissance Nursing Home in Canton, IL. She was born April 30, 1920, in Four Mile, KY, the daughter of Bidge and Thalytha Jordan Engle. She married James R. Powell on June 1, 1937, in Salisbury, MO. He died in January 1997. Surviving are one son, Ronald and Patricia Powell of Cameron, IL; three daughters, Betty and Larry Larkins of New Windsor, IL, Shirley Little of Galesburg, IL, and Ella and Dean Luallen of Ottawa, IL; one brother, Kenneth Engle of Galt, CA; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, two daughters, and a great-grandson. She worked for 17 years at Admiral Manufacturing, retiring to Missouri. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness for 50 years. Margaret was well known in the area for her decades of service to Jehovah in the door to door ministry. Her love for our creator was an example for all. A private graveside service was held in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Galesburg, IL, June 21, 2003. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
