Janet Hoewing, 72, of Kahoka, MO, died July 3, 2003, at the BroMenn Hospital in Normal, IL. She had been a resident at Heritage Manor in Bloomington, IL, for nine months.

She was born on February 10, 1931, in Kahoka, MO, a daughter of James R. and Helen Katherine Karle Nichols.

She married Willis J. Hoewing on March 30, 1958 at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, MO. He died on April 8, 1986.

Janet graduated from the Kahoka High School in 1948. She had worked at the Exchange Bank of Kahoka, MO, as a teller for many years. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, MO. She was a former member of P.E.O. Chapter AW and had been a member of the Kahoka Tuesday Club. Janet enjoyed needlepoint and playing cards.

Survivors include two daughters, Renee Hoewing of Bloomington, IL and Jennifer Hoewing of Barberton, OH and one half sister, Kathy Nichols of Macomb, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in infancy.

Funeral services were held July 7, 2003, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Reverend Ken Beckmann officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. The Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO was in charge of arrangements.
