AGNES MORRISON
(2/10/1923 - 7/24/2003)




Agnes Mae Morrison, 80, of Memphis, MO, died Thursday morning, July 24, 2003, at Taylor Hospice in Des Moines, IA.

She was born the daughter of Lee C. and Bessie Emily (Yearns) Abernathy on February 10, 1923, at Bible Grove, MO.

Agnes married Fred Augustus Woods on July 3, 1941. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1980.

She married W.N. (Doc) Grainger on January 1, 1948. He preceded her in death on September 23, 1973. Agnes then married Herman Morrison on December 28, 1973. He preceded her in death May 22, 1978.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alberta Maxine Hymes in 1984; a brother Edgar Lee Abernathy, who died in infancy; and one great-grandchild in infancy.

She is survived by her daughters: Mary Helen Duval of Davenport, IA, and Marilyn Kay Reed and her husband John of Frankton, IN; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a special friend, Jim Jones of Memphis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Deacon Ken Berry officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Jim Ward, Bill Cottrell, Randy Tippett, Walt Marlowe, Bruce Childress, and Dr. Larry Wiggins, DVM.

Memorials have been suggested to the American Heart Association and may be mailed to or left at Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main, Memphis, MO 63555. Interment was in the Pleasant Ridge/Slocum Cemetery in Greensburg, MO.

Gerth Funeral Service handled arrangements from their Memphis chapel.
