Arveda “Bea” Smith, 84, of Amory, MS, died September 25, 2003, in the Countrywood Plantation Care Center in Mantachie, MS.

She was born October 2, 1918 in Clark County, MO, a daughter of Walter Clarance and Elizabeth Jane Austin Forquer.

She married Herbert J. Smith on September 26, 1960. He survives.

She had lived in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Monroe County for several years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and flower gardening.

Other survivors include two sons, Tom Rossi and his wife, Hattie Mae of Armory, MS, and Roger Rossi and his wife, Delores of Hereford, AZ; one brother, Jesse Forquer and his wife, Wilma of Wyaconda, MO; 11 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were held in Amory, MS, September 26, 2003. Local funeral services were held September 29, 2003, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Reverend Dan Deatrick officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.
