TONY MARTIN SHAW
(2/14/1956 - 10/24/2003)




Tony Martin Shaw, age 47, of Edina, MO, passed away October 24, 2003, three miles west of Baring, MO.

He was born in Kirksville, MO on February 14, 1956, the son of Harold Dean and Janet Lucille Price Shaw.

On July 19, 1975, he was united in marriage to Debra Kaye Tague and to this union two children were born.

Surviving are one daughter, Tonya Verlee Hamlin and husband, Chris of Edina, MO; one son, Adam Dean Shaw and fiancee, Rita Shivley of Marshall, MO; his mother, Janet Shaw of Rutledge, MO; four step-children, Tommy Harsell and wife, Tammy of Baring, MO, Tammy Stauffer of Edina, MO, Robbie Harsell of Edina, MO, and Terry Harsell of North Carolina; two brothers, Michael Dean Shaw and wife, Mary Ann of Rutledge, MO, Asa Leon Shaw and wife, Ann of Gorin, MO; one sister, Judy Musgrove and husband, Dale, of Arbela, MO; two grandchildren, Alexandrea and Karissa Hamlin; three step-grandchildren, Katelyn Stauffer, Brett and Brittany Harsell; two uncles John Shaw of Quincy, IL, Asa Shaw of Newhall, CA; four aunts, Hazel Bualle and husband, John of Las Vegas, NV, Norma Clary of Rutledge, MO, Dorothy Clark and husband, Emery of Rutledge, MO, Helen Brooks of Aztec, NM; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Karen Graves of Edina, MO.

Tony was a graduate of the Knox County High School Class of 1974. He was employed for several years as a manager of Quincy Soybean in LaBelle and Baring, MO. He owned and operated the T.C. Cafe in Baring, MO, and in 1992 was employed with Wal-Mart in Kirksville, MO and Ottumwa, IA for several years. Tony was a member of the Colony Masonic Lodge #168 A.F. & A.M.

Tony found the Lord at the Rutledge Baptist Church during a revival service. At this time he went forward with his two brothers, Mike and Leon. He was baptized at Memphis, MO and held membership at the Harmony Grove Baptist Church near Rutledge, MO.

He enjoyed hunting, picking mushrooms and blackberries and spending time with his grandchildren.

Tony was preceded in death by his father; and two nephews, Michael Carson Shaw and Jason Dean Shaw.

Funeral services were held October 29, 2003, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. The Reverend Mike Wilson officiated the services. Burial was in the Harmony Grove Cemetery east of Rutledge, MO. Casket bearers were Doug Herrigon, Dave Ball, Bobby Clark, Ken McNamar, Bill Hayes, Eric Bratten, Dan Kelly and Wayne Walker.

Visitation and Masonic Services by Colony Masonic Lodge #168 A.F. and A.M. were held October 28, 2003.
