ICLE L. WETZEL

Icle L. Wetzel, 83, of Des Moines, IA, died November 8, 2003, at Mercy Capitol Hospital, Des Moines, IA.

The daughter of Clyde and Mattie Pearl (Burton) Swindler, she was born in Downing, MO, December 24, 1919.

Icle loved beauty. She saw the expanse of wonder in the images of ordinary moments. She shared her creative gifts freely with those she knew and loved, and inspired others to be open to the world and to find peace and beauty in all their endeavors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; a daughter, Florine; four brothers, John, Robert, Joe Dean and Jim Swindler.

She is survived by her two sons, Frank B. Wetzel of Eagan, MN and Bryant Wetzel of Aurora, CO; her two daughters, Frances Cottle of Malcom, IA and Patricia Negrete of Montezuma, IA; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viva Cuddy of Florida and Inez Bowling of Bloomfield, IA; and a brother, Wilbur Swindler of Ottumwa, IA.

A visitation for family and friends was held November 10, 2003, at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines, IA.

Funeral services were held November 11, 2003, at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO. Officiating at the service were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Kirksville, MO. Interment was in the Darby Cemetery.
