DELORES JEAN SCOBEE
(7/5/1951 - 12/18/2003)




Delores Jean Scobee, 52, of Wyaconda, MO, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2003, in the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA.

The daughter of Donald Ross and Gloria (Lighter) White, she was born on July 5, 1951, in Pekin, IL. She graduated from Pekin High School and also graduated from Southeastern Community College in Keokuk, IA.

In 1980, Delores moved to Wyaconda, MO. She was a substitute teacher for the Wyaconda, Luray, and Kahoka school districts.

Delores was very active in the Wyaconda Lions Club and the Kahoka Lend a Hand Club as long as her health permitted. She belonged to the Wyaconda Baptist Church. She also liked to attend all local sporting events and in 2002 coached girls softball in Wyaconda.

Preceding her in death were her mother; stepbrother, Mike Paul; and her grandparents.

Survivors include her son, J.R. Scobee of Wyaconda, MO; her father and stepmother, Don and Melba White of Wyaconda, MO; her sister, Sandy Folsom of Pekin, IL; her stepsister, Kristy Tarpein of Wyaconda, MO; and her stepbrother, Joe Paul of Wyaconda, MO; and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 21, 2003, at 3:30 p.m. in the Wyaconda Baptist Church, Wyaconda, MO, with Reverend Ernest Deatrick officiating. Music was provided by Allen and Louise Fitzgerald. Serving as pallbearers were Joe Paul, Jim Alderton, David Alderton, Sr., Kenny Lighter, George Hudson, and Wesley Knupp. Interment was in the Wyaconda Cemetery, Wyaconda, MO.

Memorials are suggested to the Wyaconda Lions Club or the Wyaconda Baptist Church and may be mailed to or left at Gerth Funeral Service, 115 South Main, Memphis, MO 63555.

Arrangements were handled by Gerth Funeral Service from their Wyaconda chapel.
