South Shelby Sweeps Varsity Doubleheader From SCR-I

South Shelby swept a boy/girl varsity basketball double header from Scotland County January 14 in Shelbyville.

The second quarter was key in the first game as South Shelby went on a 16-2 run en route to a 48-34 victory over the Lady Tigers. Meagan Fromm had 11 points to lead Scotland County, which fell to 5-6 with the loss.

South Shelby improved to 9-3. Meredith Rush led the Lady Birds with 15 points and Cody Chinn added 12.

Scotland County had a solid showing against the Cardinals in the boys contest before bowing out in a 70-58 defeat.

SCR-I (2-8) was led by Chase Moore with 15 points and Aaron Dale with 13 points.

Brian Fohey, Reid Montcrief and Andy O'Laughlin each had 14 points to pace South Shelby (10-1).
