Second Quarter Struggles Seal Fate Of Tigers In 60-55 Loss To Rams

A last second loss the night before appeared to have taken the wind out of the sails for the Scotland County Tigers as they fell behind 29-15 at halftime Saturday, February 1 in Schuyler County.

But the Tigers came from behind in the second half to make a game of it before ultimately bowing out 60-55.

After trailing just 13-11 after the first period the Tigers fell apart in period two when Schuyler County went on a 16-4 run to blow the game open. The lone two buckets of the quarter came from Jake Fogle as the offense struggled.

The Tigers hit seven of nine free throws in the third period but it was just good enough for status quo as Schuyler County led 41-26 with just eight minutes to play.

That's when the Tigers started dropping bombs from behind the three-point arc. SCR-I hit five three pointers, three from Fogle to turn it into a game. Aaron Dale and Fogle each had 11 points in the mad rally and Chase Moore added seven however it was too late as the Rams maintained the slim advantage for a 60-55 win.

Dale finished with 16 points to lead all scorers. Moore and Fogle both added 15 points.

The loss sent the Tigers to 0-3 in conference play and 4-13 overall on the year.
