SCR-I Improves To 2-1 In League Play With Win Over Rams

A win is a win, but the 48-32 victory by Scotland County February 1st served two purposes, sending the team up the ladder in the conference standings while sending a message to one of the top district opponents Schuyler County.

SCR-I jumped on top of the Rams 16-3 in the first quarter and cruised to the Tri-Rivers Conference victory to improve to 2-1 in league play.

Six different Lady Tigers got into the score book in the first period setting the tone for a balanced scoring attack.

Scotland County did not let up in period two, adding to the lead to pull ahead 27-13 in the first half.

Amy Blomme hit her second three pointer to close out the third quarter as Scotland County continued to cushion the advantage, leading 40-21 with just eight minutes to play.

The Lady Tigers struggled a bit at the free throw line in the final period. Scotland County made just three of eight free throws but it wasn't enough to allow Schuyler County back into the game.

Meagan Fromm was 2-2 at the charity stripe in the final eight minutes and got eight of her game-high 14 points at the free throw line. Ali Fromm added 10 points. Blomme pitched in with eight points while Jessie Cotton contributed seven.

Tanya March led Schuyler County with 12 points and Kia Beeler closed out the game with 10 points.

Scotland County ran its record to 10-9 on the year and 2-1 in league play.
