New Look, Same Results As SCR-I Squashes Schuyler County For Third Time This Season
Who says change isn't good? The Scotland County Lady Tigers moved over to the visitors bench in the final home game of the regular season and started five seniors. SCR-I had little problem adjusting to either change en route a 52-28 demolition of Schuyler County.
The changes did take a little while to adjust to as Schuyler County pulled out in front 11-8 after the first period despite a solid start by SCR-I's Amy Blomme.

Blomme and fellow senior Meagan Fromm carried over into the second period where they helped blow the game open midway through the quarter. Fromm hit four free throws to start the quarter and Blomme scored on an offensive rebound as the Lady Tigers erased the deficit. A three pointer by Ali Fromm gave Scotland County its first lead since the opening basket.
Scotland County continued to bomb away from behind the arc as Meagan Fromm, Blomme and Jessie Cotton all connected on three pointers. When the smoke cleared Scotland County went into the locker room ahead 32-18.
The scoring slowed down some in the third period. That didn't matter however as Scotland County clamped down on defense allowing the Rams just two points as the lead grew to 40-20. Blomme had a pair of buckets in the quarter and fellow senior Katie Kittle got into the act as well with her first points of the night.

Kittle drilled a three pointer to start the final period. Valerie Crawford and Rebecca Consbrock did the rest of the damage combining to score Scotland County's final nine points as SCR-I went on to win 52-28.
The Lady Tigers evened their mark in the Tri-Rivers Conference at 3-3 and improved to 12-11 overall on the season.
