SCR-I Golfers Shoot 'Lights Out' At Highland

The SCR-I golf team shot lights out April 3 in a four-team meet at Highland. As a team, the Tigers finished just 10 strokes over par on the day with a score of 146.

Corvin Drummond led the attack, finishing one-under par on the afternoon with a score of 33. Drummond had back-to-back birdies on holes seven and eight before scoring a bogey on the final hole.

Andy Boyer finished as the runner-up medalist with a score of 37 after birdying hole number three. Boyer actually tied for the honors with freshman Kyle Lister, who was playing for the Tigers junior varsity squad when he turned in his 37.

SCR-I rounded out the scorecard with a pair of 38s from Chase Moore and Josh McBee. Josh Marlowe had a 47 to wrap up the varsity performance. The team score is based on the top four scores from the five team players.

Lister's stellar performance helped the SCR-I JV finish third overall on the day, ahead of the Knox County and Putnam County varsity squads. Nick Oldham and Vince Rockhold both shot rounds of 46 followed by Ryan Baker with a 47 and Brian Dial with a 50.

Highland's varsity team finished second in the four-team event with a score of 159. Knox County varsity was fourth (186) followed by Putnam County varsity (190). Highland JV (210), Putnam County JV (206) and Knox County JV (228).
