Go-Karts Gather At Show-Me Speedway For 2 Days Of Racing

Race fans at the Show-Me Speedway in Downing got a double dose of go-kart action as the carts took to the track for the regular show on Saturday night followed by a special event on Sunday.

A total of 31 karts were on hand for the June 21 races.

In the Junior I class it was Wes Golden taking the checkered flag. Tyler Greberem was second with Andy Garrett taking third place.

Jesse Simmons was the winner in the Junior II division. Following Simmons across the finish line was Cody Simmons in second.

A trio of racers put on a show in the Stock-Lite Class with Ryan Jacobs winning the race. Jamie Stevens was second with third going to Tracy Ellis.

The Stock Medium Division was won by Andrew Hays. Adam Baker was the runner-up and Ben Ebert finished third.

Mickey Hays was the winner in the Over 40 class. David Kirkpatrick finished second followed by Rhea Golden.

The Yard Karts class was filled with participants. First place went to Mitch Kriegshauser. Second place went to Clay Daw followed by Ben Bolen in third.

The 50-50 prize winner was Rhonda Ebert.

The go-karts will be back in action Saturday, July 5. Hot laps are at 6:00 p.m. with races at 7:00 p.m.

The following day was a special Sunday show sponsored by Jepson Lumber of Kirksville and Macon.

The special event drew 26 go-karts to the speedway.

Wes Golden captured the win in the Junior I Class. He finished ahead of Justin Jennings and Cody Dunn.

Tyler Hagar took the checkered flag in the Junior II race. Kirk Hopkins finished in second place.

The Stock Medium Division was won by Troy Garner. Andrew Hayes settled for second place ahead of Kyle Samp.

Allen Lewis was the victor in the Over 40 Division. He bested Mike Thelen and David Kirkpatrick.

Rhea Golden was the winner in the 50-50 drawing.
