Mother/Daughter Battle Highlights Race Night At ShowMe Speedway

A pair of racers tossed the mother-daughter relationship aside as they went head to head Saturday night at ShowMe Speedway in Downing before Ashley Hutchinson finally got the better of mom, Jennie Hutchinson in the feature race of the Stock-Lite division of go-kart racing at the track.

The exciting race was just one of many at the track August 23 on a night that saw the biggest number of racers in 2003 as 43 go-karts hit the speedway.

In the junior one class it was Sklyer Cavendar holding off Jared Fox and Dylen Kreigshaver for the win.

Tyler Hagar was the winner in the Junior II class beating Kirk Hopkins and Jesse Simmons to the finish line.

The Over 40 Class went to Rhea Golden. She bested David Kirkpatrick in second and Mike Thelen in third place.

Two features were run in the yard kart division. The A feature victor was Mitch Kreigshaver. Terry Delauder was second followed by Clay Darr. In the B Feature it was Dalton Smith holding off the challenge from Joey Hagar and Greg Tuggle to take the win.

The 50-50 drawing for the night went to Rex Lingenfelter.

Races will return to ShowMe Speedway September 6 with hot laps at 6:00 p.m. and races at 7:00 p.m.
