Eggleston Mows Down Milan In 7-0 Softball Win

Set them up and mow them down. Thatís what senior hurler Sara Eggleston was doing when Milan came to town September 24. At one point in the conference match up Eggleston struck out six straight Wildcats batters on her way to a three-hit shutout.

SCR-I supplied plenty of offense en route to the 7-0 win to get back to the .500 mark in Tri-Rivers Conference Play at 2-2.

The Lady Tigers put three runs on the scoreboard in the third inning. Jamie Fuller opened the inning with a base hit. Eggleston walked and both runners scored on a double by Ali Fromm. Valerie Crawford drove in Fromm with a base hit to make the score 3-0.

In the fifth inning SCR-I added four more runs. Eggleston led off with a single. Rebecca Consbrock reached on an error before a walk to Brandi Mallett loaded the bases. Crawford came through with a double to clear the bases. She then scored on an RBI single from Jacqui Drummond.

SCR-I improved to 9-4 on the season with the victory.
