Junior High Softball Team Beats Milan 8-2

The best hitting performance of the season helped lead the Scotland County junior high softball team over Milan 8-2 September 23.

“Overall we’re playing better together as a team than we have all season,” said coach Julie Wickert.

The Tigers got hits from Lacey Jack, Kellyn Wickert, Andrea Shelley, Deidra Dochterman and Melissa Cotton.

Kirsten Johnston and Kaela Cook pitched the team to the win.

The Lady Tigers luck changed two days later when Putnam County took a 10-3 victory over SCR-I.

Dochterman had the lone SCR-I hit. Jack, Wickert and Megan Westhoff scored runs for the Lady Tigers.

In the B game it was Scotland County winning 5-1. Morgan Sites and Jeannie Forquer provided the hitting while Kristen Kaldenberg was the winning pitcher.
