Lady Tigers Close Regular Season With 7-0 Victory

The Scotland County softball team closed out the regular season October 6 at Queen City with a 7-0 victory over Schuyler County. The win improved SCR-I to 4-3 in Tri-Rivers Conference play and 15-7 overall.

Sara Eggleston recorded the shutout striking out eight Rams batters along the way as she pushed her pitching record to 13-7.

Jessie Cotton delivered the key hit to open up a close game when she tripled with the bases loaded. Becky Miller added a double to drive in two more runs for SCR-I as the Lady Tigers avenged a loss to the Rams just a week earlier in the Schuyler County Tourney.

Knox County sealed up the league title earlier in the night with a 4-3 win over North Shelby. Clark County secured second place with a 7-1 victory against Putnam County who settled for third. SCR-I took fourth place in conference followed by North Shelby, Milan and Schuyler County.
