Eggleston, Mallett Earn All-District Softball Honors

Four-years of hard work paid off for a pair of Scotland County softball players as they continued to wrap up the post season awards following the completion of the 2003 season.

The Lady Tigers battery of pitcher Sara Eggleston and Brandi Mallett were named to the Class 2 District 12 All-District Softball Team. The duo has started for SCR-I since their freshman season.

Eggleston was one of five pitchers to earn the honors while Mallett was ranked as one of the top two backstops in the district.

Fellow hurlers honored on the all-district squad were Katie McMahon of Knox County, Ashley Wallingford of Clark County, Jackie Loughead of Putnam County and Milanís Jessica Taylor.

Putnam Countyís Katie Fowler was the second catcher named to the all-star team.

Rounding out the honors were shortstop Courtnee Ream of Putnam County, third baseman Devon Hagerla of Knox County, shortstop Julie Gares of Clark County, second baseman Haley Montgomery of Putnam County and outfielders Ashley Roberts of Clark County and Lauren Stansberry of Knox County.
