Friday the 13th Proves Unlucky For Local Motorist

A Queen City woman suffered moderate injuries when the van she was driving slammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer unit that she was following on Highway 136 in Scotland County at 4:10 p.m. February 13.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Traci L. Jefferies, 33, was eastbound on Highway 136 in a 1992 Chevy. She failed to yield when the 1987 Peterbilt tractor-trailer she was following stopped to make a left-hand turn onto Route B.

Jefferies suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the tractor trailer, Roger L. Riebel, 50, of Memphis, was not injured in the accident.

Jefferies was ticketed for following to closely.

The highway patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, the ambulance service and Scotland County Fire and Rescue.
