Community Cancer Crusade Set To Kick-Off

Scotland County will kick-off its annual Community Crusade on Tuesday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. at Keith’s Café in Memphis.

The Community Crusade is an annual door-to-door fundraising campaign to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Leading this year’s campaign are co-chairs Maxine Cook and Dorothy Harvey.

“The people of Scotland County are very dedicated to eradicating cancer in our lifetime, the door-to-door Community Crusade for 2003 raised $6,500,” said American Cancer Society Community Specialist for Scotland County Brenda Carlin. “This is an amazing amount of money for a community of less than 5000 people.”

If you would like to attend this year’s kick-off and help with the Community Crusade, please contact Maxine Cook at 660-465-2204 or Dorothy Harvey at 660-465-8566.

For more information on cancer, call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345 or visit the website at www.cancer.org. The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer.
