Bentz GM Country SC Speedway To Host Car Show
The Bentz GM Country Scotland County Speedway Car Show will be held on the square in Memphis, on Saturday, March 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In addition to bright new beautiful racecars, Bentz GM Country, Kahoka, will have a sporty car on display.
Food venues will be set up and there will be music. The news media will be on hand to do interviews. All of the racing classes will be on display, Modifieds, Late Models, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, B-Modifieds and Cruisers. A large number of cars have already signed up to appear. There is no car show entry fee. Each driver will be taking donations from any fans who wish to donate to their race program. Fans are encouraged to support the drivers.
There is a Farm Show at the Scotland County R-I High School that day, also, which means the public can go to two excellent events. “The Car Show is geared to show support to the car owners and also support the business community who have really gotten behind this racing season. Many thanks to everyone for the support,” stated car show organizer, Ed Sheckler. Anyone interested in bringing their car can contact Sheckler at 309-734-7913.
The season will kick-off Friday and Saturday, April 23 and 24 with the United States Modified Touring Series presented by J&J Ag and Travel Connection of Memphis. In addition to the Modifieds, the Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, B-Modifieds and Cruisers will be racing Friday night. These classes, plus the Late Models will be racing Saturday night. All classes will be racing for extra purse money both nights. Racing on Friday night will be at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday night at 6:00 p.m.
