Illinois Girls Hurt In Crash Near Gorin

A pair of Illinois girls were injured in a one-vehicle accident five miles north of Gorin on April 11 at 9:58 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Carol Watson, 17, of Hamilton, IL, was westbound on an unmarked gravel road in a 2002 Ford when she apparently lost control of the vehicle. The car ran off the roadway, overcorrected and crossed the road again before overturning in the ditch.

Watson and a passenger, 12-year-old Sheena Clark of Hamilton, IL, both sustained moderate injuries. The two girls were taken by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department.
