Bar Fight Lands Iowa Man In Memphis Jail
A Bloomfield, IA man remains in the Scotland County jail after he was arrested last week on assault charges stemming from an altercation in the parking lot of a Memphis business.
The Scotland County Sheriff’s Department responded to Shelly B’s restaurant on April 10 after receiving reports of a fight in the parking lot.
Two victims were transported to Scotland County Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. Officers took statements regarding the altercation and began the search for a pair of suspects that allegedly struck the victims with beer bottles during the fight.
The investigation led to the arrest of Marvin T. Lawson. His brother, Jeremy Lawson was also taken into custody for questioning but no charges were filed against him. Marvin Lawson faces felony charges of second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held in the Scotland County Jail on $25,000 cash bond.
