Former Memphis Resident Killed In Crash In Moberly
A former Memphis man died as the result of a one-vehicle accident that occurred in Moberly at 6:35 p.m. on Saturday, June 5.
According to the Moberly Police Department, Eric A. Myers, 29, died at a Columbia hospital from injuries he suffered in the one-car crash.
The accident occurred on Highway 63 on the U.S. 24 overpass in Moberly. Myers was traveling northbound in a 1992 Chevrolet truck when the vehicle went off the east side of the roadway and collided with a highway sign. The truck continued northbound, became airborne, overturned, and then collided with the east side overpass guard rail before coming to rest on its side in the northbound traffic lanes.
Myers was ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries. He was transported to the Moberly Regional Medical Center before being transported by the Staff For Life helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Assisting the Moberly Police Department at the scene were the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, Randolph County Ambulance District and the Moberly Fire Department.
Services for Myers will be held Thursday, June 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Memphis.
