MoDOT Seeking Input From Motorists On Route Z Closing

The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking comments from motorists who travel over Little Fox River on Route Z in Scotland County about closing the road during construction of a new bridge. The project is scheduled for construction during the summer of 2008 with completion that fall. When MoDOT considers closing a road due to construction, area residents are given the opportunity to share their comments and ask for a public hearing to be held.

“By closing the road, we’ll be able to reduce construction time and subsequently save close to $300,000 on this project”, explained Rolla Rentz, MoDOT Project Manager.

If you have any comments about closing Route Z, or would like to request a public hearing a written or oral statement will be accepted. Written statements should be mailed to the Missouri Department of Transportation, P.O. Box 1067, Hannibal, MO 63401. Oral statements can be made by calling toll-free 1-888-275-6636 between 7 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Statements can also be made in person at our Hannibal office on Highway 61 South during normal business hours. All comments must be received by September 25, 2004.
