SCR-I To Host Homecoming Week October 11th-15th

Past graduates of Scotland County R-I High School will be returning home October 15 to help current students at the school celebrate homecoming.

The event will be celebrated with a parade Friday afternoon on the Memphis square beginning at 2:15 p.m. The theme for the event will be “Board Games”. Glen Lister has been named grand marshal for the parade. Anyone interested in entering a float in the celebration should contact SCR-I High School Principal Ken Cross at 465-8901.

The Tigers will host Brookfield Friday night in the homecoming football game. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Tri-Rivers Conference match-up. The 2004 Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at halftime of the contest. There will be a dance held following the game at the North School gymnasium from 9:00 p.m. until midnight. The dance is for current SCR-I high school students and their guests.

Homecoming week at SCR-I will feature a number of theme days. Monday, October 11 is Pajamas Day. On Tuesday students and the staff will dress up like their favorite celebrities.

Wednesday will find the school decked out in camouflage. Thursday is cross dressing day. On Friday celebrants will don their blue and white school colors and celebrate senior pride on #1 fan day.

The school will host a special rally Thursday night, October 14 in the parking lot located north of the band building. The bonfire and pep rally will get underway following the completion of the SCR-I vs. Knox County junior high football game at approximately 8:00 p.m.
