Fire Station To Host Emergency Planning Meeting

Representatives from all branches of local emergency services will be gathering October 21 in Memphis to map out strategies and insure preparedness in dealing with any number of situations the groups may some day be required to deal with.

Discussion topics will include recent grant funds, equipment needs, training issues and the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).

Teresa Lee, Emergency Management Director for Scotland County, will lead the meeting, which is to be held at the Memphis Fire Station beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The gathering allows the fire department, hospital, ambulance, law enforcement, utilities, health department and other public service providers to discuss tactics on dealing with emergencies and natural disasters that might require all entities to work together for the public good.
